New Leader? Brand new to Boy Scouts?  Be sure to complete your basic training and to get plugged into either your son's Troop Committee or Assistant Scoutmaster teams.  Often, the first year, an adult will be on the Committee while he learns how the troop operates.  During this time, you can attend the ASM training while you work toward building a stronger unit.  Trained adults supporting a troop are critical to providing the infrastructure that provides the fun and guidance that your son needs during the tumultuous teen years.
